The problem with today's AI platforms
Most AI platforms lock you into a single model provider, route your data through US-based infrastructure, and leave you with zero visibility into where your data lives. For European organisations — especially those in regulated industries — this isn't just inconvenient. It's a compliance risk.
If you're a bank, a hospital, a government agency, or any organisation handling sensitive data, you need to know exactly where your data is processed, who has access, and under which jurisdiction it falls. The answer from most AI vendors is vague at best.
EU-first infrastructure
OpenBricks runs on European cloud providers — Hetzner and OVHcloud — by default. Your data never leaves EU borders. It's not routed through US hyperscalers, not subject to the CLOUD Act, and not stored in data centres you can't audit.
For organisations with stricter requirements, we go further still: dedicated local servers, including infrastructure based in Sweden, or a deployment directly on your own on-premise hardware. Same platform, same support — just a different physical and legal footprint, chosen to match your compliance needs, not ours.
This isn't a configuration option or a premium tier. It's the default. Every OpenBricks deployment is sovereign by design, not by add-on.
Any model, any open-source tool — not model locked
Other platforms tie you to a single model vendor. OpenBricks doesn't. We run and manage whichever model — or open-source AI tool — actually fits your use case: open-source EU-hosted models, Mistral, Anthropic, OpenAI, embedding models, RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, and more — all grouped by hosting region so you always know where inference happens.
For most workloads, EU-hosted open-source models and Mistral cover everything you need without the data ever touching a non-EU server. When a use case genuinely calls for the advanced capabilities of Anthropic or OpenAI models, we run them on those providers' EU regions on AWS — so even then, your data never leaves the EU.
Switch models without rewriting your workflows. Compare outputs across providers. Run sensitive workloads on EU-hosted open-source models and reserve commercial frontier models for the tasks that actually need them. The choice is driven by your use case, not by what a vendor happens to sell — and you decide.
You own the instance. You own the data.
OpenBricks manages the day-to-day operation of your AI workspace — deployment, monitoring, upgrades, support — but the instance itself, and everything inside it, belongs to you. Your conversations, your documents, your embeddings, your logs. Nothing is pooled with other customers, and nothing leaves your environment without your say.
That's the difference between renting access to a platform and owning your own AI infrastructure with someone else handling the maintenance. Built on open-source foundations, not a closed system we keep the keys to.
Model training is your decision, not the default
Some platforms quietly use customer data to improve their models. OpenBricks doesn't. Training is opt-in, not assumed — by default, none of your data is used to train or fine-tune any model.
If you decide you want a model fine-tuned on your own data — to better understand your internal terminology, products, or support history — you can switch that on for your instance specifically, and switch it off again just as easily. It's a setting you control, not a clause buried in a terms-of-service document.
Built for organisations, not just developers
Most AI tools are built for individual developers. OpenBricks is built for organisations. That means role-based access, project-level isolation, usage analytics, and governance controls out of the box.
Business users get a simple interface to deploy AI assistants and workflows. Technical teams get the APIs, model access, and infrastructure controls they need. Both work on the same platform, with full visibility for leadership.
The all-in-one stack
Instead of stitching together five different tools — one for model hosting, one for RAG, one for prompt management, one for monitoring, one for compliance — OpenBricks gives you the complete stack in one platform:
Models — access any model, hosted in the EU or via commercial APIs, with a single interface.
Knowledge — connect your internal documents, databases, and APIs for retrieval-augmented generation.
Assistants — build and deploy AI assistants that your teams can use without writing code.
Governance — monitor usage, enforce policies, and maintain audit trails for compliance.
Predictable pricing, no hidden fees
Most AI platforms charge per seat — costs that quietly compound as you roll AI out to more of your organisation. OpenBricks doesn't. You get a predictable, flat-rate model for your dedicated infrastructure, whether you have 10 users or 1,000.
Who is OpenBricks for?
OpenBricks is for any organisation that wants to adopt AI seriously — not as a toy, but as infrastructure. If you care about data sovereignty, vendor independence, and having a single platform your entire organisation can use, OpenBricks is built for you.
